George Lopez Charlotte Concert reviews
Outpouring of Energy
"George Lopez presented one of his fantastic shows, with the band being tight and wonderful musicians. The energy and excitement were palpable, and the songs they played covered a wide spectrum, including a few from their latest album, "Jei Beibi."
Rub茅n, the lead vocalist, created a prominent stage presence, moving all over the stage. The lighting was very good, illuminating the stage instead of using massive backlighting, which obscur some bands' faces nowadays. I actually like to see the performers. Understandably, backlighting is part of an overall lighting package, but George Lopez made good use of all lighting sources.
The crowd was very much into the show, and it was evident that the band members fed off of that energy. The Pavilion did a great job with the mixing, showcasing George Lopez's varied sound through the setlist. The sound was very balanced.
The band members, even the touring members, clearly love what they do. The crowd's enthusiasm was evident, and it was clear that the band members were inspired by it.
One last thing, which really has nothing to do with George Lopez but rather the establishment, is that I like the fact that there was no pit. The seating actually went up to the stage, creating a more enjoyable experience for those who bought tickets to sit and still enjoy the show. I wish more shows were like this at the Pavilion. Pits, while allowing for more people, can make the experience less enjoyable for some attendees."
